LegalEase AI, developed and published by MTG Softworks, is a consumer software application that uses third-party Generative Artificial Intelligence APIs (currently Google Gemini, a GPAI system under EU AI Act classification) to produce draft legal document text based on user-supplied parameters. The Service is a technology product, not a legal service, legal referral service, or law practice. The Service does not constitute the practice of law as defined under any jurisdiction's Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) statutes.
THE OUTPUTS OF THIS APPLICATION DO NOT CONSTITUTE LEGAL ADVICE, LEGAL OPINION, OR LEGAL REPRESENTATION UNDER ANY JURISDICTION'S BAR RULES, UNAUTHORIZED PRACTICE OF LAW (UPL) STATUTES, OR PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT REGULATIONS.
Specifically, MTG Softworks expressly disclaims that:
In compliance with the EU AI Act (Regulation 2024/1689) transparency requirements and the Colorado AI Act (SB 24-205), we provide the following detailed disclosure of known AI risks:
| Risk Category | Description | Severity |
|---|---|---|
| Hallucinations | LLMs fabricate information including fictitious case law (e.g., citing non-existent court decisions), non-existent statutes, and false legal standards. This is an inherent, well-documented technical limitation of all current generative AI systems. | Critical |
| Inconsistency | The same prompt may produce materially different outputs on different occasions due to the stochastic nature of LLM inference. There is no guarantee of reproducibility. | High |
| Knowledge Cutoff | The AI model's training data has a fixed cutoff date. Laws, regulations, and case law change continuously. Generated documents may reference repealed, amended, superseded, or expired legal provisions. | Critical |
| Jurisdictional Errors | The AI may incorrectly apply laws from one jurisdiction to another, mix federal and state/provincial requirements, or omit jurisdiction-specific mandatory clauses and disclosures. | Critical |
| Omissions | Critical clauses, mandatory disclosures, required warnings, or legally required provisions may be entirely absent from generated documents without any warning or notification. | High |
| Contextual Misunderstanding | The AI cannot understand the full legal, business, personal, or regulatory context of your situation. It generates text based on pattern matching, not legal reasoning. | High |
| Bias & Fairness | AI models may reflect biases present in training data, potentially producing content that favors one party over another or reflects outdated legal norms. | Medium |
| Language Limitations | Legal terminology is highly precise and varies by jurisdiction. The AI may use terms of art incorrectly or apply common-law concepts in civil-law jurisdictions and vice versa. | High |
The Service relies on Google Gemini API (Google LLC, Mountain View, California, USA) for document generation. In accordance with the EU AI Act's supply chain transparency requirements:
MTG Softworks expressly disclaims all liability arising from the acts, omissions, errors, failures, biases, or data practices of any third-party AI provider, including Google LLC.
